Dr. Lee

Born in Kansas, Dr. Jiyoung Elizabeth Lee split her childhood between Philadelphia, PA and Seoul, Korea. She completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA, where she majored in microbiology and molecular genetics. While a graduate student at Boston University, Dr. Lee had a career change and worked at an internet startup company. After attending Temple University School of Dental Medicine to receive her degree in dentistry, she completed her pediatric dental training at the Children’s Hospital Boston/Harvard University. She is a board certified pediatric dentist and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Lee and her husband decided to try Portland and loved it enough to call it home; they are now proud parents of three Oregonian children and one hound dog. In their free time, they are either scoping out the next best rain gear or looking for a good place to eat. If you are lucky, you might find the family on a beach since that is their favorite place to visit during family vacations.

Dr. Lee loves working with children- laughing, crying, tantrums, and hugs are all part of what she considers a ‘smashing day.’ Fact- Dr. Lee was not a great dental patient herself. Due to her personal experiences at the dentist (some good, some bad) she strives to treat her patients as she wanted to be treated.

Before the birth of her last child, Dr. Lee was a more active member of Soroptimist, a nonprofit organization involved in improving the lives of women and girls. She is also currently involved in dental research in conjunction with Linfield College.
